Quilt Blocks at Murphy's

Many thanks to Georgianna Fox, owner of Murphy's Steakhouse in Winchester, Texas for allowing us to showcase our quilt blocks in her dining room.  Georgianna is always an avid supporter of the Winchester community. Tom and Margaret Atkins installed 5 quilt blocks of varying designs today.  You can enjoy viewing the quilt blocks while you eat your meal or they are available for purchase for $85.00 and you can take it "to-go"!  The Summer Star Quilt Block is prominently displayed on the west side of this historic building. This block is part of our Quilt Block Trail, so Georgianna's staff serves many a meal to quilt block enthusiasts that are driving the trail.  As you can see in the photo, the Schmidt Building was built in 1913 and lends an historic vibe to our community.  So drive on out to Winchester and pick up at map at Murphys and enjoy viewing the 65 quilt blocks displayed in our area.

Margaret, Kathy and Karen each have a wonderful gift of teaching with encouragement and patience. You will have a beautiful quilt block at the end of your class and likely a new friendship or two.

I took a class after learning about the trail during the Houston International Quilt Show. I have not had that much fun creating something in a very long time! While I can sew, I definitely cannot paint... The instructions and materials provided during the class enabled me to create a beautiful custom quilt block that I proudly hang in my sewing studio.

Thank you Winchester Quilt Trail for spreading the love of sewing through this Quilt Block Trail!

I’ve taken four classes and loved everyone. Lots of fun and hard work but the blocks are so great have all four on my house.
